2013 Ford C-Max Will Be Hybrid Only in The US
Previously, some world-class manufacturers as GM, Toyota, and Nissan have officially released their electric and hybrid flagships with particular design and engine profile. Ford Motor Co. did not seem to be overcome with these automakers as it is reported to be working on hybrid model, 2013 Ford C-Max. According to the latest news, this forthcoming car is said to be a dedicated hybrid for US market and this car will be available next year.
Previously, 2013 Ford C-Max would be available in two versions: hybrid and four-cylinder gasoline engine version. The gasoline engine version, however, has been cancelled by the automaker. It is reported that the automaker prefers the hybrid version because it has been able to reduce the cost of the car’s hybrid technology. With the cost-cut, this hybrid car will have lower price tag, and thus, much more attractive for buyers.
With the hybrid technology, engine profile, and also relatively lower price tag, Ford C-Max is expected to be able to compete with other automakers flagships as Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid, Toyota Prius Hybrid, and also the latest Nissan Leaf. During an event in Sterling Heights, Ford Executive said that the automaker plans to triple the production of Ford C-Max in North America.
